ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The Scientific Committee of WNS-V 2026 welcomes abstracts for Oral (Platform) Presentations and E- Poster Presentations. Authors are invited to submit abstracts of their research papers or case studies.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Abstracts will be accepted only through the online submission portal.
  • The last date for abstract submission is 30th April 2026.
  • Conference registration is not mandatory for abstract submission.
  • A maximum of three (3) abstracts per user may be submitted.
  • Authors must select the primary category: Neurology or Neurosurgery.

Authors must further select one sub-category from the following:

Neurology -

1) Stroke, 2) Epilepsy, 3) Movement Disorders, 4) General Neurology, 5) Neuromuscular Disorders, 6) Cognitive Neurology, 7) Autoimmune Disorders, 8) Demyelinating Disorders, 9) Headache, 10) Neuroinfections, 11) Vertigo/Neuro-ophthalmology, 12) Miscellaneous.

Similarly neurosurgery abstracts must be submitted under one of the following subcategories

Neurosurgery

1) Degenerative Diseases, 2) Epilepsy, 3) Infection, 4) Neuro Oncology, 5) Neuro Traumatology, 6) Pediatric Neurosciences, 7) Radio Surgery, 8) Recent Advances in Neurosurgery, 9) Skull Base, 10) Spine, 11) Stereotaxy, 12) Vascular, 13) Miscellaneous

(Special Categories)

1) AI in Neurosciences, 2) Art in Neurosciences, 3) Entrepreneurship, 4) Finance for Doctors, 5) Leadership in Neurosciences, 6) Medical Illustrations, 7) Neuro Surgical Education, 8) Neurosurgery in Low Resource Conditions, 9) Non-medical Literary Work, 10) Work Life Balance

If multiple abstracts are submitted by a single author and more than one is accepted, only one abstract will be selected for platform (oral) presentation , while the remaining accepted abstracts will be assigned to E-Poster Presentation.

  • Authors must indicate their preference for Platform (Oral) or E-Poster Presentation at the time of submission.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English only .
  • Residents/ fellows submitting abstracts can apply for bursary also.
  • D.M./DNB Neurology residents who have appeared for their examinations before October 2025, will not be eligible for bursaries.

ABSTRACT FORMAT

  • The abstract title should be concise and reflect the content of the abstract.
  • The abstract must not exceed 250 words .

Authors must enter the following sections in the text box provided:

  • Title
  • Aim/Background
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion/Conclusion

The title should be typed in CAPITAL LETTERS , font size 14 , except for scientific names, which should follow standard italicized upper/lower case formatting.

The abstract text must be typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font .

AUTHOR INFORMATION

  • The first/submitting author must be the presenting author .

The presenting author is responsible for ensuring that:

  • All co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract
  • The work is original and has not been plagiarized

Presenting author’s full name (First, Middle, and Last) and institutional affiliation(s) must be mentioned.

Authors should list their highest earned academic degree after their name.

Residents or trainees may indicate their current designation (e.g., Resident, Neurology).

The name(s) of the department(s) and institution(s) to which the work is attributed must be clearly stated.

Complete correspondence details of the presenting author (name, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address) are required.

POST-ACCEPTANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Authors of accepted abstracts will be required to submit a full paper or E-Poster in accordance with the prescribed guidelines.
  • All submissions will be reviewed by an expert committee .
  • The final decision regarding acceptance, presentation format, and category will rest with the WNS-V 2026 Scientific Committee .

IMPORTANT DATES

Last date for submission of abstract and full paper: 30th April 2026

Abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be considered for presentation and bursary .
